Personality: There are many ways people describe Kiernan. Not least among the words used are many ones impolite in most settings and a few considered rude even among the rougher crowds. Chief among the more polite words though is hard. Kiernan knows where he stands and draws a line in the dirt. Any who cross that line are dealt with quickly. There is no uncertainty in Kiernan. A lack of faith and a belief that morals are ones own have helped guide him over the years.

History: Born in Alrusa as the son of a whore, he was raised in the brothel by a multitude of women, never knowing his father or which of the women was his mother. The first major moment of Kiernan's life was the realization that his life wasn't normal. Other children that he played with on the streets didn't talk of being raised by all of their mothers. They didn't have parents. By the age of seven, Kiernan realized he didn't either. The women left him to fend for himself after the age of four, and he managed for a time.

Shortly after no one but Kiernan remembered his seventh birthday, he decided it was time to leave the brothel and find his father. In his mind, his father, the king or the knight or someone important, would take him in. They would be so proud that he'd found them and he would feel like he belonged for once in his life. Over the next six months, he dedicated himself to learning what he could about which woman was his mother and then finding who she thought his father was. He soon realized that the search was hopeless. His plan changed.

He ran away two months before he turned eight. The streets of Alrusa weren't kind and they weren't forgiving, but soon, he learned not to be either. Kiernan found and lost his, and many other, religions more times than he could count. Sometimes he believed in them. Sometimes he needed to believe for food or shelter. And sometimes, he needed to believe so he didn't give up hope. In time, he found that he didn't need them as much as he thought he did. As he grew older, that security blanket passed away like much of the rest of his childhood. By the age of thirteen, after five hard, long years on the street, he knew that no religion was the truth. That any God or gods that would allow what he had seen to happen was no god he wanted to believe in.

Around the same time, he met a woman who would change his life forever. High Priestess Zaviya found him on the worst night since he had run away.
